Update on our girl 🤍
Mattie did so well, and we are home.
Coming out of anesthesia was rough (whew), but she’s feeling a little better now and resting. The biggest news: NOT a tumor. 🙌 Truly best-case scenario.
We’re now on the semi-long road of shrinking the cyst and giving the bone time to heal. There will be follow-ups over the next several months to monitor her decompression tube and make sure everything is dissolving like it should. We’ll have biopsy confirmation in the next week or two, but cancer is no longer a concern - and I cannot fully explain the relief in that sentence.
Thank you for the prayers, texts, and check-ins. They carried me more than you know.
And I need to publicly say this: my king of a husband came in from working out of town to drive us to and from, sit with me until we had confirmation there was no cancer, calmly steady my spiraling brain, run errands afterward, and make sure I actually ate something. He assured me from the start it would be okay - I should probably listen to him more often.
I am grateful. Deeply.
We’re tired. We’re relieved. We’re hopeful. And we’re taking it one follow-up at a time.

The way it will absorb back into the body, mind blowing. Our God is AMAZING! Brings “fearfully and wonderfully made” up to another whole level! I’m also thankful for your “King of a husband”! 😉
