The Savior Complex: When Faith Turns into a Fixer
When I was growing up, the phrase “We’re called to change the world for Jesus” was practically a mission statement.
It sounded noble. Righteous. Urgent.
We were the light in the darkness, the soldiers in God’s army, the only hope for a world that was “lost.” The message was clear: the world was broken, and we were the ones appointed to fix it.
I believed that with my whole heart.
Until I realized how much harm that kind of faith can cause.
