A Letter to the Newly Divorced Christian
Dear brother, dear sister, dear you…
If these words have found you, I imagine your world feels like it’s crumbling. The paperwork may be finalized, or maybe you’re still knee-deep in court filings and custody schedules. Either way, you are living inside an ending you never thought would be yours.
I know. I was there, too.
Divorce felt like standing barefoot in the ruins of a house I once believed God Himself had built for me. Everywhere I turned there was broken glass: my own mistakes, their mistakes, words we could never take back, dreams that would never come to be, futures that seemed so certain now just dust. And in the silence of it all, I asked questions I had never allowed myself to ask:
Does God still love me? Am I disqualified now? Will my church friends ever look at me the same way again?
If those questions are haunting you, you are not alone. And you are not beyond the reach of grace.
